Our Doctors

Dr.
Michael R. Stone earned a Degree of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine
in 1988 from The Ohio State University.
Doctor Stone being born and raised in Oak Harbor knew this was where he
wanted to
place his practice. Dr. Mike started his Veterinary career working for his
Uncle Dr. Bob Nehls, during his first years of college. In 1992 Dr. Stone
opened Oak Harbor
Veterinary Hospital, Inc.
Dr. Michael Stone sees mostly small animals and has a strong interest in Ultra sounds
and Diagnostic Imaging.
Dr. Stone and his family reside in Fremont where they have a Belgian horse
farm. At the farm he has an extensive breeding program and also competes in
many halter and hitch competitions around the Midwest. Along with Mike and
his wife Kim they have two sons Josh and Drew, both attending Ohio State (Go
Bucks!) and their daughter Katie. Their family pets are two house cats Gizmo

Ryan
R. Zimmerman, DVM, earned his degree from The Ohio State University
College of Veterinary Medicine
in 2000.
He was raised in nearby Lindsey, and attended Fremont Ross High School,
where he was active in sports, FFA, and 4-H. Dr. Zimmerman joined us in 2005. He is a member of the American
Veterinary Medical Association, American Association of Equine Practitioners
where he sits on the committee for Infectious Disease, and serves on the
Executive Board of the Ohio Veterinary Medical Association.
Dr. Zimmerman sees large, as well as small animals. He has strong interest in
equine lameness and reproduction as well as small
animal orthopedic surgery.
Dr. Zimmerman resides in Fremont with his wife, Sarah, twin girls, Lauren
and Faith, son, Aidan, dog, Mason, cats, Raven and Jack, and horses. He
also attends Lindsey United Methodist Church. In his spare time, he is on
the Board of Directors for the Sandusky County Chamber of Commerce, and is a
Lieutenant with the Lindsey Volunteer Fire Department where he has been a
firefighter and First Responder since 1996.
Dr.
Matthew G. Lenke earned the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree
from The Ohio State University
in 2005.
Dr. Lenke was raised in Oak Harbor, and during high school was active in
basketball, musicals and choir, as well as showing horses in 4-H. He grew up
on his families’ grain and hay farm, working with the horses, and raising
pigs and cattle as well. He has been with us
since 2006.
Dr. Lenke works with small animals and also does acupuncture and alternative
medicine on both small animals and horses.
Dr. Lenke lives in Oak Harbor with his wife Brandy, son Seth, daughters
Madelyn and Kayleigh, and their two Australian Cattle Dogs, Doc and
Cheyenne. In his spare time, he enjoys helping out on the family farm,
camping, riding horses, and spending time with his family.
Dr.
Irene Lavigne earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from
the University of Tennessee, May 2008.
She grew up in nearby Woodville where she was involved in track, 4-H, FFA,
NBHA and Tri State Rodeo. She earned her Bachelors of Science in Biology at
the University of Findlay in 2004 where she was a member of Pre-Vet Club and
Rodeo Club. During high school and college, Dr. Lavigne worked as a
veterinary assistant.
Dr. Lavigne has been with us since 2008 and is currently a member of the
American Veterinary Medical Assoc., Ohio Veterinary Medical Assoc., Toledo
Veterinary Medical Assoc., and American Assoc. of Equine Practitioners.
Her areas of interest include equine internal medicine and lameness, small
animal pain management, and small animal internal medicine and surgery.
Dr. Lavigne resides in Oak Harbor with her dogs Sammy, Tipper and Zoe, and
cats Ray-Ray and Piper. She also has her first horse Maggie, a retired
barrel horse who she’s had for almost 20 years. In her spare time, Dr.
Lavigne enjoys hiking and camping, running with her dogs Tipper and Zoe,
taking Sammy for walks, traveling, horseback riding, biking, and music.

Dr. Leslie Avery earned her Doctor of Veterinary
Medicine degree from The Ohio State University in 2009.
Dr. Avery grew up in Oak Harbor where she was active in softball,
volleyball, and 4-H. She attended the University of Findlay for undergrad
where she was the pre-veterinary barn manager and played on the softball
team. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Biology in 2005.
Currently, she is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Assoc., Ohio &
North Carolina Veterinary Medical Associations, and the American Assoc. of
Equine Practitioners. Dr. Avery has been with us since 2009.
In her free time, Dr. Avery enjoys traveling, reading, biking, and spending
time with her family and pets. She is a member The Ohio Waterfowler
Association, The Oak Harbor Conservation Club, and the North Coast Young
Professionals.
Dr.Jacquie B. Chorba, DVM, earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine
degree from The Ohio State University in 2012.
She grew up in North Olmsted, a suburb of Cleveland, where she was active in
track, cross country, and orchestra. She earned her Bachelors of Science
degree in 2008 at Bowling Green State University, where she initially
started shadowing at Westview. Dr. Chorba was a member of Phi Eta Sigma and
Alpha Lambda Delta Honors Fraternities and worked as a volunteer in the
University Herpetology Lab. She was a member of the Pre-Veterinary Medical
Association, and in 2008 became President of this organization.
At Ohio State, she worked in the Anatomy Lab and was a member of the milking
team. During one of her summer vacations, she traveled to Thailand on a
study abroad program with a small group of veterinary students where she
studied elephants, cattle, and small animal medicine.
She is currently a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association,
Ohio Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Association of Equine
Practitioners. Dr. Chorba has been with us since 2012.
Dr.Chorba currently resides in Fremont, Ohio. In her free time, she enjoys
running, traveling, enjoying the outdoors, and spending time with her family
and friends.
